"A Large Satsuma Vase With Three Reserves Signed Matsumoto Hozan"
Satsuma ceramic lantern vase signed Matsumoto Hozan, decorated in polychrome enamels and gold within three rectangular reserves.

The first reserve shows a peacock; the second shows figures outdoors under a pine tree, with Mount Fuji looming on the horizon; the third depicts a hilly landscape, crossed by a river that meanders between the hills.

Under the base is the signature "Dai Nihon Kyoto Matsumoto Hozan" with Shimazu Mon and Yasuda mark.
