"The Wash Houses In Moret Sur Lerge Gustave Lino"
Gustave Lino is a French painter born in Mulhouse in 1893 and died in Algiers in 1961. He embarked for Algiers in 1912. He exhibited in 1914 at Herero in Algiers but was incarcerated as a civilian in 1914 in Corsica being of German nationality. He produced many paintings there, notably at the Solférino hotel in Ajaccio. In 1918 he returned to Algiers where he was a student of Rochegrosse. Painter of the group known as the painters of poetic reality (Cavaillés, Planson, Brianchon) and also the painter Sisley who lived and worked in Moret sur loing, the place of the impressionist painters between the two wars.
