"Naked Woman Lying In Bed"
Emile Othon FRIESZ FEBRUARY 1879-JANUARY 1949... French painter and engraver. influenced by the impressionists, then by Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, some of his paintings were exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in 1905, with works by Henri Matisse, Albert Marquet and Henri Manguin. The bright flat tints of color and the nervousness of the drawing give the viewer the sensation of entering a "wild beast cage". This was the beginning of fauvism, of which he would become one of the representatives. Provenance sdv MASSOL 1993 Private collection
