Beautiful portrait of a young French aristocrat in armor, attributed to Jean-Baptiste SANTERRE, painted in the early years of the 18th century. The model poses in profile, his head turned towards the viewer, in a trompe-l'oeil medallion. His armor is enhanced by a blue velvet cape lined with fur, magnificently treated by the artist. The work has been cleaned and relined, and it includes its period gilded wood frame.
