Chalice and its paten in silver gilt entirely and finely chiseled, knot of the chalice decorated with ears of wheat, bunches of grapes and stylized shells, mounted on a round foot with pleats decorated with a cross, paten with the initials IHS surrounded by a crown, Paris hallmark 1738-1744, fox head discharge, letter date 1740-1743 and goldsmith's hallmark, from the first half of the 18th century. This chalice is in good condition and is of exceptional quality. Hallmarked as well as the paten see photos (letter date A for the paten 1740-42 and B for the chalice 1742-1743). Unidentified goldsmith's hallmark (G.?). Please note: a small shock on the bowl and another on the foot (see red arrows), tiny wear of the vermeil in places (notably on the paten), micro-scratches and wear of time, see photos.
