Artist Lupo uses thick, mellow brushstrokes in vivid, contrasting colors to depict human figures and stalls, creating an effect of liveliness and confusion typical of popular markets.
In the foreground, we notice two female figures, both partially turned to the side. The woman in pink has a bright dress and, with broad, quick brushstrokes, emerges from the dark market background. The second figure, farther away and dressed in lighter, yellowish hues, interacts with stalls laden with vegetables and other produce.
