"Frank Will (1900 - 1950) Watercolor Paris Notre-dame View From The Banks Of The Seine"
Magnificent watercolor and black chalk drawing representing the Ile de la Cité and Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris seen from the quays on the right bank. The towers and spire of Notre-Dame are represented in majesty. The carters are at work with their horses harnessed on the banks of the Seine, a moored barge. The artist describes with great accuracy the laborious activity of the workers. Very finely executed as you can see in the photos, our drawing is animated by magnificent colors including an electric blue and touches of orange skillfully applied. Made around 1930. Never unframed, it is highlighted by its beautiful original wooden strip, probably in blond mahogany, absolutely beautiful! On the back, the label of the Parisian framer. Signed lower left and located lower right. Dimensions: 45 cm x 53.5 cm sheet 67 cm x 76 cm framed Very good condition overall. Some foxing on the backing board (see photos).
