"Robby the robot" as he is known is the character from the movie "Forbidden Planet", his real name is mechanised robot. "Robby from "forbidden planet" was an event. During the presentation of the film in Paris, Robby even went up the Champs Elysées in a convertible car. Copied by Osaka Tin Toy and many Chinese variations of different colors, it is found less and less in the original Nomura version. This is the first version with grip buttons, round battery doors and difficult to handle by children, they were replaced after a few months of production by butterflies. Robby is cult and the basis of any collection: very beautiful robot whose pistons are activated in the dome. Robby advances in a semicircle like many robots, his antennas twirl. The craze for Robby was accentuated by fans of the MGM film released in 1957. Other brands like Alps and Yoshiya produced derivative robots like Planet Robot or Remote Control Robot whose head resembles that of Robby but as they did not have the license, the robots are different. The robot is in good external condition, the battery compartments do not show any oxidation. there are some black paint touch-ups and its dome has a line in the left corner (not a crack). But finding a Mechanised Robot these days is becoming difficult and, all in all, this robot has a nice appearance. It is presented here with a reproduction box.
