Fine watercolour depicting a young woman drawing from a model. She is seated in a high-backed tapestry armchair. She is wearing a wide, long white apron and a headdress of the same colour. She is facing a painting, which she seems to be copying in a notebook she is holding on her knees. The blue-green back wall gives a particular relief to the scene.
The work is finely executed, as can be seen in particular in the folds of the fabrics and the concentrated air of the young artist.
The work is signed lower right. It is in perfect condition. It is offered under glass, in a modern gilded frame that can be placed or hung. The frame is also in very good condition.

We do not know the life of the Marquise Di Salvo. On the other hand, we know her work as a watercolourist from the end of the 19th century. She mainly depicted genre scenes and religious scenes.
Her works, always of high quality, are rather rare at public auctions.
