"Tsekedi Mask, Yaka People, Drc"
This mask is of the Tsekedi type (it is the first to appear during initiations). It is a handle mask revealing a rather geometric face and wearing a very pretty upturned nose. Its polychromy is still very bright and beautiful. It is topped with a conical headdress with tiers in braided raffia which is decorated with colored geometric patterns and which ends with feathers.
It has kept its raffia collar forming a dense beard.
