"Louis XVI Period Armchair With Medallion Back, Redone Upholstery, 18th Century"
Very beautiful Louis XVI period armchair in waxed and patinated natural wood. It rests on two fluted legs at the back, two fluted legs with rough teeth at the front ending in a constriction. This one carries the connecting die, it is rounded in shape, carved with a rosette. The side crosspieces have a pretty curve, the front crosspiece is decorated with a pretty ribboned knot. The armrests are fitted with small sleeves, they end with a small winding work and are placed on supports with a vigorous twist. The backrest is medallion-shaped and has a pretty molding. It is decorated with a second ribboned knot at its top, reminiscent of that of the belt. This magnificent seat is similar to the work of Georges Jacob (1737-1814) or Pierre Bernard. The upholstery has been redone recently, the seat is therefore firm and very comfortable, it is covered with a very beautiful fabric in perfect condition, with a braid finish. High quality armchair, beautiful manufacture from the years 1780-1785. Shipping costs contact us
