"Five Miniature Portraits Of The Du Parron Family, 18th And 19th Centuries."
Rare set of 5 miniatures of the French aristocratic family "de Parron". Two are framed in a small frame of blackened wood and gilded brass and three are grouped on an old board, covered with velvet and gilded brass hoops. Each piece is decorated with an engraved brass cartouche specifying the name of the people. 1: (The father) Joseph, Count of Parron (1739-1807) Lieutenant General and Field Marshal. Knight of Saint Louis in 1774. 2: (the mother) Rose Badin, Countess of Parron (1744-1839). 3: (the daughter-in-law) Joséphine Cohade d'Angerolles, Countess of Parron (1790-around 1832). Married in 1811 to Louis, Count of Parron (1777-1840). 4: (the daughter) Rose de Parron (1812-1872) Painter, married in 1832 to Roger, Viscount of Arquinvilliers (1805-1838). 5: Caroline de Saint Laurent, probable half-sister of Roger d'Arquinvilliers whose mother had married Joseph de Saint Laurent during a first marriage. This exceptional set of family portraits remains anonymous with regard to the artist except for portrait 4 of Rose de Parron which bears the signature of Jean François Strasbaux. He was a student of Jean Baptiste Régnault, enrolled at the Paris Academy in 1787 he exhibited at the Salon from 1801 to 1824. Frame 5 has a Parisian framer's label on the back. French School from the beginning of the 19th century. Be careful not to take into account the involuntary reflections on the photos.
