Interesting Culpeper coumpond Microscope late 18th century Brass microscope. It consists of a tube with an eyepiece and lens at each end, which slides vertically inside a fixed barrel. The tube has a rack and pinion mechanism that works with a screw in the barrel to slide the tube to achieve macroscopic focus. It is held by a ring, supported by three curved pillars that rest on a round plate pierced with a central hole. Between these pillars is the tilting mirror.
