"Large Decorative Platter Signed Narcisse Vivien (circa 1880)"
Narcisse Vivien is recorded as a meticulous painter of birds often in association with platinum grounds. His work was exhibited at the Paris Universelle Exposition of 1878, he also participated in the Salon des artistes français in 1886.
Narcisse Vivien was teaching painting at the Bernard Palissy school, was active between 1875 and 1900. He was especially recognized for his remarkable, extremely realistic and colorful paintings of birds and flowers.
