German Reich World War I Protective helmet for aircraft pilots Döberitz aviation school 1918. Leather helmet with circular and head beading all around. With neck protector and cut-away chin strap for better hearing. Inside of the leather lining with chamber stamp "Flg. Bekl. Döberitz 1918".On May 1, 1910, the "Provisorische Fliegerschule Döberitz" was officially opened at the Döberitz airfield. In 1914, the training and testing center for the newly formed air force was established there.
