Object description :

"Gilded Wooden Screen - Napoleon III Period"
Three-leaf screen in wood gilded with gold leaf. Finely carved, the frame is decorated at the top with a woman's face, grotesques, acanthus leaf scrolls, shells, pilasters, etc. In the center of the external leaves are hung pretty hangings representing, in slight relief, large vases holding bouquets of flowers. These vases, spherical in shape and with large gadroons, support parrots on their bases. The composition of the central leaf is different: a vase in the shape of a tulip basin and a bouquet of flowers where we can see birds. The other side of the leaf, more sober, is covered with a simple plain velvet from the period as well.
