Portrait of Louise Françoise de Bourbon known as Mademoiselle de Nantes, born in Tournai on June 1, 1673. Legitimized daughter of King Louis XIV and Madame de Montespan, she is a French princess, Duchess of Bourbon then Princess of Condé. She was the wife of Louis III of Bourbon-Condé, grandson of the great Condé. This portrait shows her wearing a fawn-colored dress embroidered with blue, the sleeve raised by a precious stone clasp. On her shoulders, a matching blue drape, with gold edging. Her hair is raised and decorated with a red ribbon. This hairstyle called "à la Fontange" was very fashionable during the reign of Louis XIV. Louis XIV period, early 18th century
