"Rare Nkisi Nkondi Magic Statue - Vili People - Loango - Congo"
Rare Nkisi Nondi magic statue. It consists of a large hardwood sculpture with three heads, one of which is quite large in the center and two small ones on the sides covering their ears. The body is made up of plant elements, small bags and wooden nails. Vili people, Loango region, Democratic Republic of Congo. It is rare to find statues of this size. 95cm high Provenance: collected in the 1950s by a man named Kibabi and sold in the 1970s to a Belgian painter José Chapellier).
