Jean Dulac (1902-1968) Lyon School, "saint Cirq Lapopie" Oil On Cardboard

This oil on cardboard representing a view of Saint Cirq Lapopie in the Lot is signed Jean Dulac (1902-1968) at the bottom right, countersigned and located on the back. Jean Dulac was born in Bourgoin in 1902; he was a student at the School of Fine Arts in Lyon from 1915 to 1924 where he revealed a great talent for drawing and sculpture. But, it was as an autodidact that he turned to painting, offering landscapes, portraits, still lifes, female nudes which made his reputation. In 1946, he founded the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux Arts, which he chaired until his death in 1968.
