Student of Lagier, Loubon, Jeanron in Marseille and Bonnat in Paris. He painted landscapes of the Marseille suburbs and inland Provence in the light of Corot. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français from 1869 to 1881, and regularly at the Salon de Marseille. He also exhibited at the Association of Fine Arts in Cannes in 1906 and 1907, at the Society of Friends of the Arts in Bordeaux from 1872 to 1876. He received several awards: a silver medal in Toulon in 1873, in Avignon in 1876 and 1877, and in Marseille in 1879 and 1886.
