"Crankshaft Perforator For Cranial Trepanation"
Signed COLLIN, 19th century (circa 1890), nickel-plated and gilded steel. Crankshaft perforator signed Collin, complete with its cylindrical crown also signed Collin et Cie. The surgical crankshaft appeared in the 16th century and was used until the 20th century. It consists of three parts: the shaft, the barrel and the pomme (round handle). The barrel extends at the front by a square-section rod ending in a centering point. On this rod is fixed the trephine (crown) to cut the skull bone in a circular manner.
Traces of oxidation, nevertheless a beautiful signed model.
