"Legras - “apple Blossom” Vase"
Vase with Japanese-style decoration in multi-layered glass engraved in acid-etched cameo and enhanced with polychrome enamels with flowering apple tree branches of astonishing realism on opaque backgrounds in pastel tones of absinthe yellow lined with turquoise. The neck is decorated with motifs of gold seed beads. Japanese art was revealed to Westerners at the Universal Exhibition of 1867 and at the London Exhibition in 1871 and Legras expressed this trend in decorations of "apple blossoms". Signed Legras.
