"Turned Ivory Chess Pieces: A Queen And A Pawn"
Meeting of two chess pieces, a queen and a pawn. All in ivory, the natural streaks are still clearly visible. The largest pawn is certainly a queen. Lighter than the other pawn, this piece is surrounded by 14 rings in its center. All perfectly the same size. Two grooves at the foot. The smallest, a pawn, is just as precious. It is surrounded by 5 rings. It is inlaid with three fillets, in 1mm thick ebony. Some missing ebony and two cracks unfortunately (see photo). The curves of these two pawns are absolutely fabulous: smooth and soft, a true masterpiece of mastery. These two pawns are certainly the fruit of the work of the same turner. 19th century work therefore in accordance with current legislation. Free shipping for France.
