French School of the 18th century, portrait of a parliamentary aristocrat, magistrate or King's attorney of the Louis XVI period. He wears a powdered wig and the red and black robe of his condition. Seated at a table covered with a fleur-de-lys tablecloth, this last detail specifies the prestige of his royal office. Oil on oval canvas presented in its original frame with a row of pearls, in carved wood and gilded with gold leaf. Late 18th century, 1770s-80s. Portrait of fine workmanship, unsigned.
