The bas-relief "Nikê retying her sandal" (or Nike removing her sandal) is a work of classical Greek art, dating from the 5th century BC, representing the goddess Nike, personification of Victory. In this scene, she is shown removing or adjusting a sandal, a gesture symbolizing grace and movement. This fluid posture reflects the elegance and lightness of the goddess, while suggesting her role as a deity of victory, especially in military and sporting contexts. The bas-relief is characterized by great naturalism, with particular attention to the details of the body, clothing and movement. The work comes from the temple of Athena Nike on the Acropolis of Athens, where it illustrates both the ideal beauty of the human body and divine power. Today, this sculpture is kept at the Acropolis Museum in Athens.
