"Monastery Book Cover, Tibet"
Painting of a trinity representing in the center, probably, a form of Ushnishavijaya with three crowned heads and six arms, definable by the attributes she holds in her hands. The green Tara and the white Tara stand on each side. This book cover originally dates from around the 15th century, two motifs, partly erased, are still visible, the carved edge is from the same period. The painting of the trinity is later, made around the 18th century. Freshness of the colors, finesse of the line make the composition expressive.
