Auguste Anastasi was a student of Paul Delaroche and Jean-Baptiste Corot. He entered the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris on May 5, 1849 and made his debut at the 1843 Salon. He won a 2nd class medal at the 1848 Salon for a landscape, and a 3rd class medal at the 1865 Salon for a lithograph. He painted landscapes of the Paris area, Normandy, Holland and Italy, in Rome and especially in Naples.
