Heavy and comfortable Ghoum, superb tight wool carpet measuring 170 cm wide by 270 cm long.
It is of course hand-knotted around 1980 in very good condition.
The beginning of the manufacture of Ghom carpets in Iran was established in this city around 1920/1930 at the initiative and perseverance of the knotters and merchants of Kashan.
Our model takes up the criteria of the Ghoum of Iran, as well as a magnificent quality of very tightly knotted wool.
We also find many similarities in the medallions and borders with the Kashan type.
Our model has a velvet and selvedges in very good condition.
Initially the manufacture in Iran of these beautiful very resistant carpets is certainly recent.
But the skilled and precise knotters as well as the "Ostads" designers of cardboards have imposed their know-how thanks to the perfection of their work and the amplitude of the range of designs and colors.
In Armenia, the same cartons were recreated and the know-how of immense quality and precision for the carpets did the rest.
# Second holy city of Iran 150 km from Tehran, Ghom is a major theological center.
The knot used is the Persian knot tied very tightly on a fine wool of very good quality (same on our model).
The decorations of plants, flowers, intertwined plants and animals, as well as the use of wool mixed with silk is done regularly.
Each type of design remains stylized and the use of colors on the ghoum is always very harmonious
## The flowery set of old pink color, is composed of flowers, interlacing, palm, deer and birds, straw yellow, brown, blue and pink.
The whole offers the impression of a Persian garden, ...., classic of the Persians. A large field covered with drawings of a beautiful symmetry.
The palm leaf spandrels surrounded by bands of clouds are the most beautiful effect; The marketing is done under several names: Qom, Ghom, Gom, Qum, Kum, and Ghoum.
Our model with hunting and floral decoration is in superb condition, in a beautiful classic spirit and unusual colors.
