[Paris], 18th century, unfolded case: 23 cm, closed: 19 x 9 cm, long-grained garnet morocco case with palmettes and gilt irons on the outside and inside, lined with green morocco, steel, horn and tortoiseshell instruments.Very fine folding giberne case with one compartment containing 13 instruments, including 2 lancets, one of which has tortoiseshell chases with hallmarks: an ace of diamonds surmounted by a crown, two blades (one double) known as laurel leaves, two probes, needles, catheters and a razor. Metal clasp. Beautifully made.
