Miniature on ivory from the early 18th century, portrait of King Charles I of England wearing the blue sash of the Order of the Garter. Charles I, born November 19, 1600 in Dunfermline and died January 30, 1649 in London, King of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1625 until his execution in 1649. Grandson of Queen Mary Stuart and son of King James Stuart, he succeeded the latter on his death on March 27, 1625. Miniature of very fine workmanship and in very good condition.
