"Northwood Wishbone Pattern Amethyst Carnival Glass"
A North American Carnival amethyst glass bowl decorated with the Wishbone pattern by Northwood and dating to the early 20th century. The bowl stands on three scrolled feet, the rounded body with a pinched ruffled rim, the inner bowl moulded in relief with a stylised floral design with orchids and wishbone shaped floral arrangements around a daisy shaped flower head impressed in the centre of the base. The bowl is of amethyst glass with a wonderful oily iridescence and the outer rim is decorated with ruffle and ring designs.
