"XVI Style Broken Duchess"
Duchesse Brisée in the Louis XVI style, with a lacquered wooden frame and repainted in an original cream-coloured paint. It consists of three elements: a Bergère, a centre stool and an armchair. These different parts are separable and can be used independently. They can therefore be arranged harmoniously on either side of a living room, and can be adapted as desired. The two Bergères with curved backs and the armrests with cuffs are moulded and finished in volutes. The lower crosspieces are also sculpted, as are the corners of the feet, with decorations. This central part with concave sides brings the whole together homogeneously and gives uninterrupted lines to this daybed once reconstituted. This cousin of the Sofa has had its tapestries redone. Period: 19th century Sale of the whole only.
