"Watercolor 19th Gustave Simonau Bernkastel Moselle "
Lovely watercolor enhanced with gouache on paper showing a lively street in the village of Bernkastel-Kues in the German middle Moselle. The work is signed and dated at the bottom right "Gve Simonau 1851" and located "Bernecastel Moselle". The artist presents us here with a very lively street with about twenty characters, mainly women with their children, busy around the village fountain, taking particular care with the architecture of the buildings. All under a beautiful blue sky. Format 41/53cm Gustave Simonau, born June 10, 1810 in Bruges and died July 10, 1870 in Brussels, is a Belgian watercolorist and lithographer.
