Large ROUND pewter DISH with molded edge.
Hallmark of an unidentified master:
1°- crowned rose / star / LL
2°- castle with two towers / 1695 / 1723.
Diameter: 45.8 cm.
HUY (Belgium), Early 18th century

In very good condition, a very small crack in the center is however noted as well as some pitting visible in the photographs.
The whitish stains and halos are only lighting effects.
Bibliography: "Tinmerken van belgië en naburige steden" by Tony Dangis who reproduces these hallmarks but does not offer an identification for this master with the initials LL
These large dishes called "venison" were often used to present "au naturel" poultry or small game.
