Pair Of Pillowcases - Cm Monogram - Damask Cotton - Crochet Lace - Late 19th Century

Pillowcases made from a beautiful, dense and well-made damask cotton fabric, the decor of which plays perfectly on contrast depending on the light. These elements of a traditional trousseau from the end of the 19th century are numbered with the initials CM, finely embroidered with padded plumetis stitch which gives them a generous relief. All the borders are highlighted by lace made by hand with a small crochet. Each pillowcase is fitted with a series of mother-of-pearl buttons and buttonholes making it easy to close on the reverse side. Antique linen of a noticeably off-white, in very good condition, washed and ironed.
