"Beautiful Travel Souvenir This Oil On Canvas Of A Landscape Of The Coast Of Capri, Signed C. Gilbert"
A very nice work that this view of the cliff of "Capri" with in the triumphant sun a view of the sea and the rocky islets. Backlit by a vertiginous cliff, the panorama of the sea is remarkable, at the bottom we see the Roman colonnade and houses while on the immaculate blue waves sails a small sailboat. The colors and the guaranteed sunshine, a journey that the Painter Charles Gilbert offers us when he was young (born in 1904 and died in 2000), a youthful painting well in material for the rocks and in flat and the sea where we can subtly distinguish the waves of the waves at the foot of the cliff. Well framed in a 1920s oak frame with a wide champlat, gilded stuccoed edge, this pretty view of "Capri" has everything going for it: a change of scenery and guaranteed sunshine, a beautiful and charming cleaned painting from the 1930s, signed and located at the bottom left... On the rocks....(supplier's label and stamp on the back)
