"Buddha's Hand, Gilded Bronze, Thailand"

Hand position in Dharmachakra-mudra, which corresponds to the teaching of the Dharma, this set of precepts given by the Buddha. In the palm of this left hand a stylized lotus flower. Delicacy of the gesture, index and middle fingers slightly damaged, gilding partly absent, Ayutthaya or Sukuthai, circa 17th century.
