"Eugenio Zampighi. Family Scene In An Interior. Circa 1890. Signed."
Superb Scene depicting a mother, her child and a grandfather in a rustic interior. The canvas has been restored in a very beautiful way and is now in very good condition. It is a characteristic work of the work of Eugénio Zampighi, an Italian artist born in Modena in 1859 and died in 1944 in Maranello, painter and also photographer, mainly of genre scenes. He enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Modena and received teaching under the direction of Antonio Simonazzi. Very young, and from his first history paintings, he was influenced by the Modenese painter Giovanni Muzzioli. After winning the Poletti Prize for painting in 1880, he had the opportunity to continue his studies first in Rome and then in Florence, where he settled permanently in 1884. In the 1880s he began to produce a repertoire of genre scenes, which enjoyed extraordinary success on the art market and brought him international commissions, influenced by the style of Gaetano Chierici and the Florentine school of the Macchiaioli. He was also a photographer. The canvas is unframed. Its dimensions are 77.5 cm x 56 cm. I insist on the fact that the canvas is well restored. It is a very beautiful canvas, a cheerful subject with many details and superb colors.
