Our Lady of Sorrows oil on canvas Italian school painting from the 1700s in good condition set in a gilded plaster frame from the early 1900s. The painting has been lined and depicts the Virgin of Seven Sorrows with clasped hands facing to the left with the light of the halo above her head covered by her cloak. The cult of Mater Dolorosa was very important and widespread throughout Italy and is perhaps the most represented in domestic devotion. The frame has a small loss in the left corner.
