Rare embossed copper tabernacle decorated with colored glass cabochons, with two fluted columns on the front, representing Saint Germain* (SCS Germanus) as well as battle scenes (or crusades), kneeling soldiers, as well as two characters (most likely kings) on the sides, Orthodox or Byzantine inspiration, from the 19th century. This tabernacle is in good condition and is of superb quality. The Saint Germain represented may be both Saint Germain of Auxerre who was first governor in Gaul before becoming bishop, his time is that of the wars against the barbarians (Visigoths), he died in 448 in Ravenna in Byzantine Italy. It may also be Saint Germain I of Constantinople, patriarch of Constantinople (715-730), Saint of the Byzantine Church. Please note: some tiny shocks, some scratches and wear from time, see photos.
