Beautiful and complete 19th century Yatate from the late Edo period - Travel writing set.
Date: Late Edo - (early 19th century)
Dimensions: 16.7 cm × 3.5 cm
Material: Solid bronze with very fine silver decorations.
Yatate were worn attached to the Obi (belt).
This Yatate was made in the late Edo period and made of solid bronze and is decorated with beautiful and very fine decorations made of silver, giving it a very particular elegance.
The brush is made of bamboo and fits perfectly into the compartment of the handle for storage.
The cover of the ink reservoir is secured by a small leather strap.
The Ojime and the Netsuke are attached to the Yatate by an old, very beautiful and very fine flat braided cord with an original pattern.
The very beautiful Ojime (pearl) is made of solid silver with extremely fine details. Dimensions: Width 1.4 cm and Height 1 cm.
The superb Netsuke is made of solid bronze with magnificent carving work. Dimensions: Width 2.5 cm and Height 2 cm.
