"Louis Majorelle, Art Nouveau “chicorée” Model Buffet, Nancy School "
Very elegant two-body buffet in solid walnut from the Nancy school around 1900, Louis Majorelle "chicory" model. The lower part resting on a very molded solid plinth opens with 2 paneled doors decorated with a 4-leaf walnut rock and reveals a shelf. A belt drawer with 2 chiseled bronze pull handles on a plant theme of extreme quality. The lower part of this drawer is marked by a long, very stretched curve that extends on either side with consoles supporting the top. These consoles are very nicely sciltated with chicory leaves that can be found in various places on this piece of furniture in a very judiciously distributed way, which makes a harmonious, sober and very elegant piece of furniture despite its relatively large dimensions. The upper body set back from the lower part opens with 2 hat doors with beveled glass on 2 glass shelves forming a display case supported by 2 consoles sculpted with chicory leaves.
