Saw work and bit are clearly of French typology, the monument is reminiscent of gate of Palace of Fontainebleau. I have not found anything similar in documentation.
Beautiful collector's key, used condition, beautiful patina, wear and bruises on hollow rod and traces of oxidation on one side of bit, see photos.
Probable period: François 1er or Henri II, circa 1550.
