"Woman In The Sun No. 16, Bronze By Augusto Murer, 1975"
Augusto Murer was one of the most significant Italian sculptors of the second half of the 20th century, with a wide-ranging artistic production linked to themes of civil commitment, but also to the search for the profound meaning of human experience. He was born in 1922 in Falcade, to which Murer always remained attached and in which he kept his atelier. Throughout the period up to the 1980s, Murer received important commissions for monuments and civil works, in which his effective expressionistic realism stands out.
The sculpture in question, number 16, depicts a seated female figure and is cast in 25 pieces. Created in bronze in 1975, the work is signed ‘A. Murer 75’ on the figure's right leg. Archived at the Augusto Murer Museum Archive in Falcade (BL), with archive number 103/scu - year 2024.
The sculpture is in good condition.
