Old and important patinated plaster bust from the Louvre workshops, this very beautiful print dating from the end of the 19th century represents Pierre Mignard (1612-1695) first portrait painter of King Louis XIV, the cast is made from the marble model sculpted by Martin Desjardins and kept at the Louvre Museum. The original work was made for the painter's family at the end of the 17th century, then the bust was bequeathed by Mignard's daughter to the Academy in 1726. This bust has a very beautiful nuanced patina with a light tone, the patina is in good condition, some small losses to the plaster are noted. Dimensions: Height: 80 cm Width: 61 cm
