Large brown ball vase (50cm) in ceramic made by Antonio Lampecco in Maredret in 1983. This vase, which resembles a sculpture, is signed and dated 1983 under the base. Imposing by its size, it reflects the know-how and technical mastery of the internationally renowned ceramist Antonio Lampecco. Spherical in shape with a narrow neck, it is distinguished by a brown glaze nuanced with mauve tones and by subtle crystallizations of the enamels. A unique and significant piece, rare on the market. Biography: Antonio Alberto Lampecco (Minucciano, 1932) is a Belgian ceramist. He is known for his round spherical vases. He moved with his family to Maredsous in 1949 where he acquired Belgian nationality, he then opened his own studio in Maredret (Namur, Belgium). He has exhibited in the Netherlands and abroad in important cities such as Florence, Paris and Lisbon. His ceramic works have won gold medals. Some of his works can be found in the Ceramic Museum in Andenne and in collections around the world.
