The rest of the label, the inventory numbers and the stamp allow us to trace the history of this chair:
Delivered on October 31, 1806 for the bedroom of the Princess of Piombino (Elisa), described as follows in the memoirs of the Jacob house. "Four mahogany armchairs, back with S-shaped crook; backrest uprights decorated with flat bottoms; the top of the crook on the sides forms a scroll; front legs in a sheath surmounted by a sculpted Egyptian head; the wings of the figure connect to the armrests which are straight; the bottom of the sheath ending in a lion's claw, on the front, under the figure, a palmette is sculpted. at 110 fr."
Moved in 1816 to apartment no. 3 of the ministers
