Pair of ceremonial armchairs in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, characterized by a very eventful structure, like that of the prestigious productions of the 18th century. The finely carved decoration is adorned with foliage and palmettes, while the arched, counter-curved legs give these armchairs an elegant and majestic silhouette. The seats are covered with a red damask, probably original, adding a touch of richness and refinement to the whole. These armchairs, which bear the mark of the Austrian legation, were probably intended for diplomatic or institutional use, which reinforces their historical and decorative interest.
