"Barbizon School Circa 1850 : "farm With Thatched Roof""
Barbizon School circa 1850: "The Thatched Farm", oil on loose canvas 22.5 X 32.5 cm, held by simple pressure in a beautiful gilded frame (small accidents) 32 X 41 cm by a pH neutral cardboard and turntables. Certainly painted on the motif, this corner of a farm with a barn with a thatched roof covered with moss is characteristic of the painters who worked in Barbizon in the entourage of the great Corot. Even if the composition with the half-open door is very reminiscent of him, I do not think that it is his hand. On the other hand, a work by Théodore Frédéric Salmon appeared on the art market some time ago, similar to ours... To be explored.
