"Martin Coulaud : "last Lights""
Martin Coulaud (1860-1906): "Last lights", oil on canvas 43 X 65 cm, mounted in a large oak frame with gilded border 58 X 79 cm. Two small accidents to the canvas in the sky and general soiling, small wear to the frame. Le Bénézit tells us that he was a member of the French Artists, and his works, particularly pastoral ones like ours, are very popular with an Anglo-Saxon public. The shepherd contemplates the last rays of sun on the sea while waiting to bring his flock back, perhaps around his caravan where he will spend the night...
